The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has resigned from office.
In a statement shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, she expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
Onyejeocha said, “It is with a heart full of gratitude that I announce my resignation as Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment. This decision comes with profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the opportunity to serve Nigeria in his administration.”

She described her exit as the close of a significant chapter in her public service, while affirming her continued commitment to national development.

“This is not an end but a new beginning. I remain committed to service, to progress, and to building the Nigeria we all deserve,” she added.
She also expressed her appreciation to the officials and staff of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment for their dedication and professionalism, stating that their collaboration had helped advance policies aimed at protecting workers’ rights, promoting workplace safety, and expanding employment opportunities.
Onyejeocha further extended her gratitude to her constituents in Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency for their support and encouragement throughout her tenure.
Addressing Nigerians, she said: “Thank you for your support, feedback, and constructive engagement during my tenure. Serving Nigeria has been the greatest privilege of my life.”
She reiterated her commitment to continued service and national progress, noting that as one chapter closes, another begins.
