Chief Ebi Ezekiel Egbe, Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Sports Facilities & Construction, was on Sunday honoured with the City People Political Excellence Award at the 5th edition of the magazine's annual political honours ceremony.
The event, held at the ETAL Hall and Events Place on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, brought together notable Nigerian politicians and public figures recognised for their contributions across various fields. The ceremony was themed around honouring Nigerians who have made measurable impact in the political landscape.
Egbe, a FIFA-licensed match agent and stadium construction expert from Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State, received the award in recognition of his sustained contributions to sports infrastructure development and grassroots political engagement across Nigeria.
Receiving the honour with visible pride, Egbe dedicated the recognition not to himself but to the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri.
"I am deeply honoured and genuinely excited to receive this special recognition from City People. This award is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the collective progress we are witnessing in my dear state of origin, Bayelsa," he said.

"I proudly dedicate this recognition to Governor Douye Diri, whose deliberate and visionary commitment to connecting every part of Bayelsa through durable and quality road networks is transforming lives, opening up creek communities, and driving real-time development. This honour belongs to a leadership that is working, and to a people whose future is being actively secured by His Excellency."
Beyond his profile in sports construction, Egbe has built a parallel reputation in politics. In 2023, he served as Chairman of the Bayelsa State Delegates for the presidential campaign of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a role that underscored his strategic influence within the All Progressives Congress. He is currently an APC aspirant for the Southern Ijaw Federal House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Egbe has initiated and supported numerous empowerment programmes in Southern Ijaw, creating employment and providing welfare interventions for underprivileged residents of the constituency he hopes to represent in the National Assembly.
