Actress Damilola Adegbite has explained why she has chosen not to remarry following the end of her marriage to Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh, citing her responsibilities as a mother.

In a recent video shared on Instagram, Adegbite said raising a child as a single parent requires a more cautious and deliberate approach to relationships. She noted that any future decision to remarry would go beyond personal considerations.

According to her, having a child changes the dynamics of choosing a partner, as such a decision involves selecting not just a companion but also a potential parent figure.

She stressed the need to carefully assess the suitability of any prospective partner, particularly their capacity to take on parental responsibilities.

“If you are a single mother or you are having to raise your child on your own and you are looking to remarry, your decision-making has to be different from when you were single. You are not just choosing a partner for yourself; you are choosing a second parent for your child,” she said.

Adegbite and Attoh met on the set of the soap opera Tinsel. They welcomed a son in 2014 and got married privately in Ghana in 2015 before their separation in September 2017.
