The Convener of Ogun State-based political group, Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, has congratulated  President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the newly elected National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and other members of the party’s National Working Committee for hosting a successful convention.

He also extended his goodwill message to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, national delegates from the state and members of opposition parties in Ogun State House of Assembly, who recently defected to the APC.

In a felicitation statement released yesterday, the YPM convener noted that APC was witnessing significant growth under the leadership of President Tinubu, praising the emergence of the new national executives entrusted with piloting the affairs of the party in the coming years.

“This is another opportunity for our great party to move forward and strengthen its position against opposition parties. The APC continues to grow stronger daily, witnessing massive support and increasing membership across the country.

“I commend our dear President and leader of the party, Asiwaju Tinubu, for a job well done. Baba is indeed a great leader, and his leadership style remains a model we proudly emulate as a progressive movement in Ogun State today.”

He further lauded Governor Abiodun for his leadership in the state.

“I cannot end this heartfelt felicitation without commending our leader and father in Ogun State, Prince Abiodun, who has continued to pilot the affairs of our party with wisdom. What we are witnessing in Ogun State today is exemplary, particularly the movement of opposition members in Ogun State House of Assembly into the APC.”

Akintunde also commended the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, alongside other national delegates who attended the party’s 8th National Convention at Eagle Square, Abuja.

He expressed optimism that the party would continue to progress.

Yayi Progressives Movement’s State Coordinator, Olusegun Kaka, rejoiced with members of the national executive over the successful conduct of the convention.

“This is another great moment of celebration for our party, particularly in Ogun State, where opposition members joined us at the Abuja convention. What we are witnessing in the State Assembly today reflects growing unity and is a clear indication that the party is making steady progress in the state,” Kaka said.

Yayi Progressives Movement has continued to distinguish itself as a vibrant grassroots-driven political platform under the leadership of Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, committed to strengthening progressive ideals, promoting unity within the party, and mobilising support for good governance across Ogun State.

Members of Yayi Progressives Movement expressed renewed commitment to advancing the party’s vision, while fostering inclusiveness, political stability and sustained development across the board.
