Chidera Ezeakor and Enoch Adegoke clocked identical times of 10.15s to share the Senior Men's 100m title on Day 2 of  the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final in Ibadan, while Maria Thompson Omokwe equalled the fastest women's 100m time recorded on Nigerian soil this year to claim the women's crown at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Ezeakor's 10.15s also stood as a new personal best, with Osama Chibueze taking bronze in a lifetime best of 10.35s. Pre-final favourite Tejiri Godwin, who had posted a PB of 10.29s in the heats, did not feature among the medals.

Omokwe, who had already lowered her personal best to 11.35s in the semi-finals, produced an even sharper 11.26s in the final — matching Miracle Ezechukwu's mark as the quickest by a Nigerian woman on home soil in 2026. Janet Sunday finished second in a personal best of 11.66s, with Omoyemi Lydia Ajayi-Bibilomo third in a lifetime best of 11.69s.

Abdulrahman Adewale Jimoh won the Junior Men's 100m in a personal best of 10.57s, ahead of Liberty Okon (10.62s, personal best) and Team MTN's Alvin Onyeama (10.66s).

In the Senior Men's 400m Hurdles, Ndiponke Okure, Sodiq Adebisi and Olorunwa Olowu filled the top three positions. The Junior equivalent went to Oseiwe Salami, who set a lifetime best of 51.60s for gold, with Ibrahim Muhammed and Solomon Eloghosa Okundaye claiming silver and bronze respectively.
