Airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have targeted terrorist enclaves in the Mandara Mountains, destroying key structures and logistics hubs.

NAF’s spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, made this known in a statement.

He said sustained counter-terrorism airstrikes have significantly degraded the terrorists’ capacity to carry out attacks against civilians in the area.

Ejodame said, while acting on credible intelligence and prior confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), NAF air assets executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area.

“Employing precision targeting and strict adherence to rules of engagement, NAF platforms engaged and neutralised hostile elements and their infrastructure with lethal accuracy, while maintaining due regard for the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment.

“The strike resulted in the destruction of key terrorist structures and logistics hubs, significantly degrading their operational capability and reinforcing the NAF’s relentless posture in denying adversaries freedom of action and safeguarding national security,” he added.
