The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) resolve to intensify air operations against insurgents and terrorists across the country.

Aneke made this known on Tuesday during a strategic meeting with Air Component Commanders (ACCs), where he outlined plans to sustain and strengthen ongoing air campaigns in support of ground troops and joint military operations.

He described the meeting as a warfighting review platform designed to assess ongoing missions, address operational gaps, and realign strategies with emerging security threats nationwide.

The CAS stressed the need for speed, precision, and sustained pressure in counter-insurgency operations, directing commanders to dominate operational space through improved coordination, innovation, and professionalism.

He commended the ACCs and their personnel for their resilience and operational discipline, noting that their efforts had led to significant degradation of insurgent capabilities and disruption of hostile networks.

Aneke, however, warned that the security environment remains dynamic and urged commanders to intensify intelligence-led operations, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and leverage modern technology to counter evolving threats.

He also emphasised the importance of standardised training, predictive maintenance of equipment, and efficient logistics support to sustain combat effectiveness.

The CAS assured Nigerians that the Air Force would maintain operational momentum to protect civilians, national assets, and the country’s territorial integrity.

He reiterated the NAF’s commitment to deploying decisive air power and sustaining partnerships aimed at achieving lasting peace and national security.
