The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has throw its weight behind Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande amid criticism.
NANS said the step became necessary owing to the continued persecution of the Minister which according to them has been driven by unhealthy criticism rather than genuine quest for accountability.
A statement by President of the Senate of NANS, Usman Adamu Nagwaza noted that the Minister has distinguished himself as innovative, outstanding, exceptional, and all-encompassing.

According to him, NANS have observed that the continued orchestrated smear and blackmail campaigns against the Minister of Youth Development are borne out of toxic politics, division, and bigotry.
He said, "In a non-partisan evaluation, the Minister of Youth Development has been able to bridge existing gaps, harness the latent potential of Nigerian youths, and create life-changing opportunities, even at the grassroots level.
"The hate against the Minister of Youth Development must stop now. This is a direct persecution borne out of bigotry, bitter politics, and subversive politics directed at the Minister.

"As the largest Black student movement in the world and the foremost umbrella body for Nigerian students both at home and in the diaspora, we maintain that the Minister of Youth Development has distinguished himself as a true patriot, reaffirming our position that youths are resourceful across all spheres and capable of leadership."
"We condemn in its entirety the continued display of hatred against the Minister of Youth Development. He is a purposeful leader who has repositioned the ministry beyond what could have been imagined.
"Any individual who wishes to criticize must do so constructively. The standard for governance is not subjective; it does not accommodate personal sentiments. Building our nation is a collective goal, and hate should be jettisoned."
