The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has assured the people of Kokona Local Government Area (LGA) of more democracy dividends.
Jatau also promised to sink a borehole in Sabon-Gida, Hadari Ward of Kokona East Constituency to address water scarcity in the area.
The speaker, who represents Kokona West Constituency, made the pledge on Monday while addressing members of 14 groups from Hadari Ward in Sabon-Gida, Kokona Local Government Area.
He assured the people of the area of better days ahead, pledging to introduce more initiatives that would improve their standard of living.
According to him, the provision of a borehole will positively impact the lives of residents, noting that access to potable water remains one of the major challenges facing the community.
“I have seen women carrying basins on their heads pleading with me to sink a borehole in Sabon-Gida, and I have granted their request.
“I am for everyone. I do not discriminate and I have no ethnic or religious bias. Everybody is my own.
“I have done a lot for the people of Kokona West Constituency and others in the areas of employment, empowerment and project execution, among others.
“I will sink a borehole in Sabon-gida to ensure that women and other residents have access to clean water,” he said.
Jatau also called on the people to support his ambition to represent the area in the House of Representatives in 2027.
He further urged residents of Hadari Ward and other communities to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

Speaking on behalf of the 14 groups, Mr Ibrahim Waziri, Secretary of Jatau Support Group, Sabon-gida, said the gathering was organised to demonstrate solidarity, love and support for the speaker.
Waziri commended Jatau for his contributions to the development of the area and urged him to sustain the efforts.
He assured that the group would continue to mobilise support to ensure Jatau’s victory in the next year’s election.
Waziri, however, appealed to the speaker to facilitate more employment and empowerment opportunities, as well as the provision of a borehole to further address water scarcity in the area.
