The announcement, contained in a statement issued by her media office in Abuja, was made during the Kogi Central Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders’ Meeting, which brought together party leaders, supporters, and key stakeholders to deliberate on the party’s direction in the district.
Addressing attendees, the lawmaker said her decision followed months of appeals and endorsements from across the five local government areas in Kogi Central.
“After due consultations and encouragement from my husband, I have accepted your calls to re-contest for a second term as your senator,” she stated.
Her declaration follows a surge of endorsements from party loyalists and community leaders over the past four months, reflecting growing grassroots support for her candidacy.
She also stressed the importance of unity within the party, urging stakeholders to embrace reconciliation and inclusiveness as preparations for forthcoming elections intensify.
“This is the time to bring everyone back home. We must reconcile with those who may have had one issue or another, for the betterment of our party and the success of our elections ahead,” she said.
Speaking at the event, the PDP Kogi Central Zonal Chairman, Hon. Anthony Akuvada, commended the senator’s leadership, describing her as a transformational figure whose impact has been widely felt across the district.
“Distinguished Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has redefined representation in Kogi Central. Her performance in office has been nothing short of exemplary, from infrastructural development to human capital empowerment,” Akuvada said.
He further praised her commitment to inclusive governance, noting that her accessibility and consistent engagement with constituents have strengthened the bond between leadership and the people.
“She is a leader who listens, understands the pulse of her people, and has consistently delivered on her promises. Her closeness to party members and constituents is a rare quality that continues to unite our party,” he added.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s first tenure has been marked by strategic interventions in education, women and youth empowerment, and infrastructural advocacy, earning her widespread admiration across political and social divides.
The senator also used the opportunity to express deep appreciation to her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Otuoze Uduaghan, Alema of Warri Kingdom, whom she described as her greatest pillar of strength.
“My husband has been my steadfast support system, my encourager, and my strength through every challenge. I remain grateful for his belief in me and in this journey of service,” she said.
Known for her grassroots approach, the senator has maintained a strong connection with her constituents, frequently engaging them through town hall meetings, empowerment programmes, and direct outreach initiatives.
The stakeholders’ meeting ended on a note of renewed commitment to party cohesion, with leaders pledging to rally support behind the senator’s re-election bid.
