The Nigerian Navy and SIFAX Group have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at enhancing maritime security and supporting national development.

This followed a visit by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command (WNC), Rear Admiral Abdullahi Abubakar Mustapha, to the Chairman of SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi.

Mustapha said the visit was part of efforts to deepen civil-military cooperation and build strategic partnerships in the sector.

He stressed the importance of inter-agency and public-private collaboration in sustaining security within the Western Naval Command’s area of responsibility, noting that the Nigerian Navy was committed to protecting the nation’s territorial waters, ensuring safe navigation and protecting critical maritime infrastructure.

The FOC added that stronger partnerships with industry stakeholders were vital to addressing emerging security challenges affecting port operations, offshore installations and maritime trade routes.

SIFAX Group Coordinating Director, Mrs Wummi Eniola Jegede, commended the Western Naval Command for its efforts.

She reaffirmed the company’s readiness to sustain cooperation with the Nigerian Navy in areas that promote operational efficiency, safety and national development.
