Ogbe also highlighted several research and technology initiatives supported by the Board, including Centres of Excellence at institutions such as Niger Delta University, Federal University of Technology Minna, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Modibbo Adama University, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto and Federal University of Technology Akure.
Other projects include the Geosciences Research Centre at the University of Lagos, the Marine and Offshore Training Centre at Rivers State University, and a new Centre of Excellence in Gas Development at Delta State University being developed in partnership with Seplat Energy Plc.
The Board is also collaborating with Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, First Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited and the Nigerian Society of Engineers to organise the first Nigerian Engineering Olympiad aimed at promoting innovation among final-year and postgraduate engineering students.
Speaking during the book conversation, Peterside said the inspiration for the book came from his personal experiences in public service, including his time in the National Assembly, challenges in the downstream petroleum sector, maritime piracy and the global COVID-19 crisis.
According to him, effective leadership in crisis situations depends on qualities such as calmness, adaptability, resilience, strategic decision-making and clear communication.
