Niger Delta ex-agitator and self-styled General, Endurance Amagbein, has dismissed reports alleging that he is planning to disrupt pro-Tinubu campaigns in the region over delays by the federal government in decentralising pipeline surveillance contracts.

In a statement issued to journalists in Abuja on Monday, Amagbein described the author of the report as a fictitious character allegedly being used by pipeline surveillance contractors to circulate malicious claims against him.

The ex-agitator, popularly known as “Adaka Boro the Second,” said he remains a loyal supporter of President Bola Tinubu and would not engage in any act capable of undermining the President’s chances in the 2027 election.

He characterised the publication as the handiwork of adversaries seeking to tarnish his image, stressing that he has neither conceived nor supported any such plot.

According to Amagbein, the same group he accused of previously linking him falsely to the Okuama incident in a bid to secure the renewal of surveillance contracts has now resorted to fresh allegations after “running out of ideas.”

He said the report was intended to distract attention and curry favour from the President, while also attempting to pit state actors against him over issues he claimed no knowledge of.

Amagbein reiterated his call for the decentralisation of pipeline surveillance contracts, arguing that such a move would encourage healthy competition, improve transparency, boost oil production, and curb crude oil theft, particularly by insiders.

He maintained that no amount of blackmail would deter him from speaking out on issues affecting the Niger Delta.

The former agitator also stated that he mobilised support for President Tinubu across the region and beyond during the 2023 elections, adding that he stands by that decision.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to deploy the same level of support ahead of the 2027 elections.

Amagbein urged the public to disregard the publication, describing it as fabricated and intended to justify false claims.

He also called on his supporters to continue backing the Tinubu-led administration, citing ongoing developmental projects in the Niger Delta as evidence of the government’s commitment to the region.
