Nigeria will face Morocco in the 2026 Davis Cup World Group II tie following the official draw conducted by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in London.
The Benson Isicbeli-led Nigerian side will travel to Morocco for the fixture scheduled for September 18–20, 2026, in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
Nigeria secured their place at this stage after an impressive 3–1 victory over Uzbekistan in the World Group II Play-offs at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan. Backed by passionate home support, the team delivered a composed performance to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Morocco, currently ranked 48th in the world and Africa’s second-highest ranked tennis nation behind Egypt, present a formidable challenge. Historically, Nigeria has yet to record a Davis Cup victory over the North African side since their first meeting in 1973.
World Group II features 26 nations — 13 losers from the World Group I Play-offs and 13 winners from the World Group II Play-offs. The 13 victorious teams will advance to the 2027 World Group I Play-offs, while the losers remain in World Group II.

Each tie will be decided over five matches — two singles on day one, followed by a doubles match and two reverse singles on day two — all played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.
With momentum from their Lagos triumph, Nigeria will be aiming to rewrite history on Moroccan soil and move a step closer to the elite stage of global team tennis.
