Nigerian football prospects Feranmi Oduyoye and Tomisin Obayemi have been officially named Players of the Month for January 2026 at the prestigious FCV International Football Academy.

The duo, both products of the Lagos-based Dynaspro Academy, was recognized for their standout performances following the mid-season break. According to Grant Brown, FCV’s Head of Football and former Leicester City defender, the selection reflects a rare blend of on-field excellence and elite-level professionalism.

Brown noted that the criteria for the award extend far beyond technical flair. Oduyoye and Obayemi were selected for maintaining shape and execution during high-pressure matches as well as exceptional punctuality, attendance, and respect for the coaching staff and supporting teammates and maintaining a positive locker-room influence.

"They hit the ground running," Brown explained. "Their intensity and discipline after the Christmas break were outstanding. A Player of the Month must embody more than just skill; they must demonstrate a total commitment to the team’s culture."

Brown highlighted that the success of Oduyoye and Obayemi is part of a broader trend of Nigerian talent dominating the global stage, following in the footsteps of legends like Nwankwo Kanu and current superstar Victor Osimhen.

"Nigerian players adapt remarkably fast," Brown said. "They combine natural athleticism and pace with a genuine willingness to learn. If these two stay injury-free and continue refining their tactical intelligence and first touch, they have a genuine path to the highest levels of European football."

For Oluseyi Oyebode, CEO of Dynaspro Academy, this international recognition validates the academy’s rigorous developmental framework.

"We are not surprised," Oyebode stated. "At Dynaspro, we ensure our players are groomed to meet global standards before they ever step foot abroad. Feranmi and Tomisin are acting as true ambassadors of our vision, and we expect their consistency to open even more doors for Nigerian talent."
