Nigerians have been called upon to be patient and resilient in the face of economic and political reforms, with assurances the country is on a path to recovery under President Bola Tinubu.
The call was made by former House of Representatives candidate of PDP, Ayo Da Silva, during his defection to APC in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government of Lagos State.
Speaking at the event, Da Silva noted while the reforms may appear challenging, they are necessary toward rebuilding the economy.
According to him, “there is light at the end of the tunnel,” urging citizens not to lose faith but to persevere in anticipation of better days ahead.
He stressed importance of continuity in governance, calling on Nigerians to support re-election of President Tinubu.
Da Silva noted that the President’s policies would reposition the country for sustainable growth, adding consistent leadership is crucial to achieving long-term national objectives.
“I am standing firmly on the mandate and vision of PBAT,” Da Silva said, reaffirming his commitment to APC.
The event also witnessed reception of Ayo Da Silva and his supporters into APC by Lagos State Secretary of the party, Adeola Jokomba, who represented the GAC leader of Amuwo Odofin, distinguished Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Chairman of the party, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

In a symbolic gesture, Hon Jokomba presented the party’s broom and flag to the new entrants, signifying their full integration into the progressive family.
Hon Adeola Jokomba commended Hon Da Silva’s decision to join the APC, describing it as a move driven by patriotism and a shared vision for national progress.
He assured the new members of equal opportunities within the party and encouraged them to contribute actively to its growth and success in Lagos State and beyond.
Political observers note that Hon Da Silva’s defection could further strengthen the APC’s grassroots presence in Amuwo Odofin, a key area in Lagos politics.
The development is also seen as part of a broader trend of political realignments ahead of future electoral cycles.
As Nigeria continues to navigate its reform-driven journey, leaders across party lines are increasingly calling for unity, patience and collective effort to secure a more prosperous future for the nation.
