The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said the Nigeria's total capital importation hit $6.443 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The importation was an indication of 26.16 per cent rise over the $5.089 billion recorded in the Q4 2024.

This was contained in the NBS report titled: "Nigeria Capital Importation Q4 2025."

The report said "In Q4 2025, total capital importation into Nigeria stood at US$6,443.48 million, higher than US$5,089.16 million recorded in Q4 2024, indicating an increase of 26.61% on a year on year basis."

NBS also said that in  comparison to the preceding quarter, capital importation increased by 7.13 per cent from US$6.014.77 billion in Q3 2025.

Ranking the sectors, the report said portfolio Investment ranked highest with US$5.486.03 billion, accounting for 85.14 per cent of total capital importation during the period, followed by Other Investment with US$599.65 million (9.31 per cent) and Foreign Direct Investment with US$357.80 million (5.55 per cent).

In the period under review, NBS said financing was $308.98 million being 30.15 per cent and banking was N3.850 billion being 59.75%.

The report said agriculture accounted for $51.19 million which was 0.19 per cent while share was $27.97 million accounting for 0.43 per cent of the capital importation in the period under review.
