The Nigeria National League has approved the 5,000-capacity McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi as Lobi Stars’ new home ground following recent upgrades.

Chief Operating Officer Danlami Alanana said: “For now, we are impressed with the upgrade they have done. We visited and have seen what they have on ground.”

He recalled that the venue was initially selected for the season opener but was rejected due to inadequate facilities.

“What they have now is better,” he added, warning that the approval remains provisional and subject to continuous monitoring.

Lobi Stars will relocate from Lafia City Stadium and host Doma United on February 21 after an away clash against Sokoto United.
