No respite for Ernest Obiejesi and Nestoil as Federal High Court discharges ex parte orders restraining EFCC from investigating Amaranta Oil and Gas Development Limited and Jonescreek Hydrocarbon Limited of their alleged criminal infractions
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has discharged its earlier ex parte orders made on 25th February 2026 and 2nd March 2026 restraining EFCC from investigating alleged criminal infractions

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has discharged its earlier ex parte orders made on 25th February 2026 and 2nd March 2026 restraining EFCC from investigating alleged criminal infractions within the Nestoil Group of Companies including Amaranta Oil and Gas Development Limited (Amaranta) and Jonescreek Hydrocarbons Limited (Jonescreek).
Amaranta and Jonescreek had approached the Court asking the Court to restrain EFCC from investigating Amaranta, Jonescreek and their affiliated companies. They also approached the Court seeking to restrain the Nestoil and Neconde Lenders from writing petitions and/or reporting criminal infractions to the EFCC on grounds that both companies are participants in the Upstream Oil and Gas Sector.

Although the Federal High Court had earlier granted the ex parte orders in line with the prayers of the duo, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday discharged the said ex parte orders and adjourned the hearing of the substantive case to 26th May 2026 which paves the way for the EFCC to continue their investigations into the alleged criminal infractions within the Nestoil Group.
