National Orientation Agency (NOA), Anambra State Directorate, Awka apparently relocated its state headquarters to Umunachi community in Dunukofia Local Government to celebrate the first Director-General of the agency, Prof Elochukwu Amucheazi.
State Acting Director, Lady Ifeoma Chijioke, who led the management and workers of the agency on a visit to him, showered encomium on the ex-DG, describing him as a rare gem and a human capital developer.
“NOA can’t thank you enough for your obvious contributions not only to the development of the country, but also humanity at large, especially at the grassroots,” she said.
Chijioke, a lawyer, prayed for God’s blessings on Amucheazi as he continued to push forward to holistic development of the country and humanity.
Receiving his guests at his country home, Umunachi, the pioneer NOA DG decried the current condition of the agency in the country, saying it was passing through difficult times.
Recounting his days in Abuja as the DG of the agency, Amucheazi said greater percentage of Nigerians were also passing through a lot of trials, reminding the leadership of NOA that they had a lot of work to do to re-engineer the faith of the country from total collapse.
Amucheazi, a Professor of Political Science, says no governor is interested in what is happening in the country today, describing them as ‘pretty governors’, whom he said are after enriching themselves with the public funds to the detriment of the masses.
Former state director of the agency, Mr.Edozie Ajaegbu, commended the motive behind the visit, saying he was happy to be part of the history made in the course of the visit.
Deputy Director, Civic, Values and Democracy Education, Mr Remigius Obi, said NOA in the state had been engaging the people, especially at the grassroots.
“The agency has been persuading eligible citizens to go and register and obtain their voter’s permanent cards from INEC, to enable them exercise their civic responsibilities at the polls, during the 2027 general election,” he added.
