Non-indigene residents in Kano State have unveiled a new political platform, the APC United Residents Alliance, Kano (AURA-Kano), aimed at mobilising support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Abba Yusuf, and President Bola Tinubu.

The group, launched on Sunday, seeks to unify diverse ethnic communities in Kano, including Igbo, Yoruba, South-South, and other northern groups, under the APC umbrella.

Organisers said the initiative followed Governor Yusuf’s return to the APC in January 2026 and is designed to align residents with his administration’s agenda as well as President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision.

“AURA-Kano represents the collective voice of millions who reside in Kano but have ancestral roots in other parts of the country,” said the alliance coordinator, Hon. Seyi Olorunsola.

“We are not passive observers. We are active stakeholders in the governance and future of Kano State. We will support Governor Yusuf in delivering the dividends of democracy across the state,” he added.

Among its core objectives, the group plans to drive mass mobilisation and build a formidable APC voting bloc across all 44 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

It also aims to promote peaceful coexistence and safeguard the socio-economic interests of residents, while creating a structured platform for non-indigenes to engage with the APC state leadership led by Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa.

Olorunsola disclosed that the alliance has commenced a statewide membership drive, focusing on key commercial centres such as Sabon Gari and Jaba.

He added that the group’s leadership would soon present a formal roadmap to the APC State Secretariat to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.

According to him, AURA-Kano is positioned as a leading inter-ethnic political support group committed to fostering unity, progress, and representation of non-indigene residents in Kano through the APC.
