The Yola Branch of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), has honoured three members for their contributions to the engineering profession and national development.

The NSE leadership, the awardees, and the Adamawa State Government highlighted the importance of engineering and urged greater recognition of engineers as problem-solving professionals to enhance national development.

The awardees include Engr Diaulhaq Abubakar who received the award alongside Saidu Njidda and Audu Ayuba Tanko.

The awards were presented during the branch’s Dinner and Awards Night in Yola, where the NSE National President, Engr Ali Alimasuya Rabiu congratulated the award recipients and urged Nigerians and governments to recognise NSE members for their roles in innovation and development, to encourage them do more for national development.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Diaulhaq Abubakar, a governorship aspirant under All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed gratitude to the NSE, saying, “This honour will inspire us to contribute more meaningfully to the engineering profession."

Highlighting the critical role of engineering in human development from innovations to modern infrastructure, Abubakar elaborated, “Engineers are trained problem-solvers whose contributions are vital but often underappreciated."

Also speaking, Edgar Amos, Chief of Staff to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, underscored the importance of engineering in societal progress, saying, “Engineering holds the key to development in infrastructure, healthcare, education and other sectors critical to national growth."
