Matchday 16 of the NWFL Premiership will be decisive, with nine matches across the country today.

While Group A’s Super Six spots are already settled, Group B remains wide open. Teams are fighting for playoff places and battling to avoid relegation with three games left in the regular season.

In Group A, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels and Edo Queens have already secured playoff spots. The relegated teams are also confirmed, but positions and pride remain at stake.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens return to Yenagoa to face Adamawa Queens. Bayelsa won the reverse fixture 4–1 and are expected to stay top with another routine win. Adamawa Queens sit fifth with 17 points but are under pressure from Ekiti Queens and Heartland Queens, both on 16 points.

In another tie, Rivers Angels travel to Owerri to face Heartland Queens. The Port Harcourt side won the first meeting 5–0 and will aim for another win to possibly leapfrog Bayelsa Queens at the top. Heartland Queens, struggling in recent seasons, need at least a draw to improve their standing.

In Ibadan, Edo Queens, third with 31 points, face already relegated Pacesetters Queens. Edo are in strong form and won the reverse fixture 2–1, making them favourites again.

Ekiti Queens host Ibom Angels in a key mid-table clash in Ado-Ekiti. Ibom Angels occupy fourth place with 18 points, while Ekiti Queens are just behind with 16 points. A win for Ekiti Queens would move them into fourth, but Ibom Angels will be keen to respond after dropping points in their last match against Heartland in Uyo.

In Group B, the race for Super Six spots and survival is intense, with all fixtures carrying major significance.

Nasarawa Amazons, second with 26 points, host bottom-placed Confluence Queens in Lafia. The reverse fixture ended 1–1. A win will strengthen Nasarawa Amazons’s playoff chances, while a draw or loss could allow Abia Angels and Remo Stars Ladies who are both on 24 points to overtake them.

In Akure, Sunshine Queens (8th , 16 points) face Osun Babes (9th , 15 points) in a crucial South-West derby. Both teams are in the relegation zone and need maximum points. Sunshine’s recent improvement gives them hope, while Osun Babes must avoid defeat to keep survival hopes alive.

In Lagos, leaders FC Robo Queens (32 points) take on Remo Stars Ladies (24 points). Robo need just a point to confirm their Super Six place. They have been dominant at home, while Remo must win to boost their playoff chances after an inconsistent season.

Ahudiyannem Queens (7th , 16 points) host Dannaz Ladies (6th , 19 points) in Aba. The hosts are improving and will seek revenge for their 2–1 first-leg loss. A win could lift them as high as fourth, depending on other results. Dannaz need at least a draw to stay clear of danger.

In Aba, Abia Angels (4th , 24 points) face Delta Queens. Abia won the reverse fixture 1–0 and another victory could move them into the top three if results elsewhere go their way. Delta Queens, struggling this season, face a tough challenge.

Matchday 16 could reshape the standings, especially in Group B, where the race for Super Six spots and survival remains tight.
