The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, commending him for delivering on the promises of his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Obasa’s message was conveyed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Research, Media, and Documentation, Adeshina Oyetayo.

He described the President as a purposeful and pragmatic leader, noting that his commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria deserves national recognition.

“Mr. President, today should be a national day of celebration honouring your selfless and visionary leadership,” he said.

The Speaker praised Tinubu’s resolve in implementing key economic reforms, which he said have helped stabilise the country and reposition it for growth.

“I commend your courage and conviction to initiate and implement necessary economic reforms that have pulled Nigeria out of the doldrums, stabilised the nation, and set it on the path of prosperity,” Obasa added.

He noted that reforms once considered difficult are now gaining global recognition, referencing a January 2026 report by The Economist titled “Nigeria’s economy may be back from the brink.”

According to the report, Tinubu’s policies are beginning to yield results, reflected in easing inflation for 11 consecutive months, the unification of the foreign exchange market, and an increase in foreign reserves to $46 billion.

Obasa also cited the improved 4.4 per cent GDP growth forecast for 2026 by the International Monetary Fund, despite prevailing global economic challenges.

He said the international recognition underscores confidence in the administration’s direction and urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid.

Obasa expressed optimism that the benefits of the Renewed Hope Agenda would be felt across all households, while praying for the President’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength to achieve national development goals.
