Nollywood actress and producer, Debbie Shokoya, has dismissed viral reports alleging that Fuji singer Abass Akande Obesere is her biological father.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Shokoya expressed displeasure over the claim, stating that she has never had any contact with the musician and did not make the statements attributed to her.

She described the report as entirely fabricated, questioning the motive behind the spread of such misinformation.

The actress also criticised the lack of verification by some media platforms and commentators, noting that the false narrative had triggered a wave of abusive remarks directed at her.

Shokoya urged bloggers and members of the public to refrain from circulating unverified claims and to correct the misleading reports, stressing that she has never met Obesere and has no personal connection with him.

Debbie said, “It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?

“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. Some commentators do not even think well enough to know that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses.

“I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception,” she said.
