The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State chapter, has directed party executives holding statutory government appointments to resign in line with the party’s constitution or relinquish their party positions.

The party stated that occupying executive roles simultaneously in government and within the party structure contravenes the principle of separation of powers and violates internal disciplinary provisions outlined in the APC Constitution.

The state Publicity Secretary, Femi Nuberu, disclosed this on Thursday, noting that the directive is not intended to target individuals but to preserve the integrity of party structures and ensure adherence to constitutional guidelines.

It was gathered that several party officials may be affected, particularly executive members serving in statutory roles such as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisor, Special Adviser, Consultant, and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Secretary.

According to Nuberu, any affected individual who intends to remain an executive committee member must submit a formal resignation letter from the statutory appointment, addressed to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as the Local Government Service Commission.
