Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has expressed a strong desire for his team to return to their home ground in Jos following their temporary relocation to Lafia.

The team has been playing away from home due to security concerns, but Ogunbote believes conditions have improved enough to allow a return.

Speaking after their narrow defeat to Rivers United, the coach described the loss as a minor setback.

“It’s a temporary setback, not a decider. We just need to return to winning ways,” he said.

Ogunbote admitted his team did not perform at their best in the match, which contributed to the outcome.

“We didn’t play to our full potential, and that affected us.”

On the relocation, he explained that the decision was precautionary following unrest in Jos but insists normalcy has returned.

“We trained on our home ground before the incident. I believe things are stable now, and we’re hopeful of going back soon.”

Looking ahead, Ogunbote stressed the need for consistency as the season enters its final phase.

“Our focus is to correct our mistakes and improve. We can still finish strongly if we stay consistent.”

Plateau United will now prepare for their next fixture against Kun Khalifat as they aim to bounce back.
