A former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the appointment of Bianca Ojukwu as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In a statement, Ohanenye described the appointment as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to inclusiveness, fairness and national unity, noting that the selection of Ojukwu from Anambra State underscores recognition of competence across regions.

She said the development was “honourable and reassuring” to the people of Anambra, adding that the state’s emergence in such a strategic position signals confidence in its representation at the federal level.

Ohanenye also congratulated Ojukwu on what she termed a well-deserved appointment, expressing confidence in her capacity to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign relations.

According to her, Ojukwu’s pedigree and experience position her to deliver effectively in advancing the country’s interests on the global stage.

She wished the new minister a successful tenure and reaffirmed her support, while also thanking the President for what she described as a significant honour to the people of Anambra State.
