Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has appointed Mr. Andrew Momodu as commissioner-designate.

If cleared by the House of Assembly, Momodu’s appointment will raise the number of commissioners in Okpebholo’s executive council (exco) to 29.

A statement by Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, described Momodu as a seasoned political administrator and public affairs practitioner, with experience in governance, security coordination and democratic engagement.

The statement said Ikhilor has held key strategic roles within government and political structures over the years.

Ikhilor earlier served as special adviser on security and public order and contested for the House of Representatives seat, but lost.

The statement said: “Governor Okphebolo remains committed to assembling a team of competent and visionary leaders to drive the administration’s agenda of sustainable growth, inclusive development and improved service delivery across the state.”
