The premises of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Headquarters on Osolo Way was in a joyful mood on Monday as the council boss, Adebayo Olasoju, threw a lavish Valentine’s Day party for the council’s workforce.
A total of 15 former employees of the council, who had attained various levels before bowing out of service between 2024 and 2025, were invited for the celebration.
Addressing the discharged public servants, Olasoju advised them to mind their health and put their retirement benefits to the best use.

He congratulated them for contributing their quota to nation-building and leaving the stage successfully.
The Lagos State Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Bode Agoro, who was represented by Mr. Irewole Ogunsakin, Director, Post Service, Office of Local Government, Establishment and Training, urged the retirees to, as a matter of necessity, integrate themselves into their neighbourhood to keep fit and endeavour to make use of the subsisting PHCs for routine medical check-up like Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Blood Pressure (BP) and Cholesterol level among others.
This, he said, is to remain healthy and enjoy their post-service lives to the fullest.
He exchanged symbolic congratulatory handshakes with them.

Earlier, while felicitating the retirees, the Council Manager, Mr. Rasheed Bada, commended them for their decades of service to the commission.
Bada wished them an enjoyable post-retirement years.
He enjoined the current employees to emulate the remarkable virtues of diligence and admirable work ethics exemplified by the outgoing workers.
Following the presentation of Certificates of Service, cash gifts from the council boss and Lagos Logo-crested carpets courtesy of the HOS to the retirees, a coordinated photo session and light dance soon followed.
In the spirit of Valentine, new intakes in the lower cadre were also invited to the floor for exclusive dance with the chairman.
Valentine toast held in the various banquet circles as enough local delicacies and a wide variety of drinks were served while multi-genre musician, Taiye Alara performed to the delight of all.
