The Ogidan-Akinola Family of Ilesa, Osun State has announced the death of Olori Rachael Olanike Ogunleye (nee Akinola), wife of the late Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, the Towulade of Akinale-Owu.
Olori Ogunleye, matriarch of Ogunleye Royal Family, went to be with the Lord on February 9. She was 66.
A renowned educationist and child development expert, she had a distinguished teaching career at Grange School, Ikeja, St Saviour’s School, Ebute Meta and St Saviour’s School, Ikoyi. She led several schools, including Corona School, Ikoyi, Apapa and Gbagada as headmistress, and served as acting principal of Corona Secondary, Agbara.

At the time of her death, Olori Ogunleye was the manager in charge of Tourism, Museum, and head of Administration and Procurement at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
She is survived by children and siblings: Mrs Jumoke Akinkoye, Dr Charles Diji Akinola (MD/CEO, South-West Development Commission) and Sir Gbola Akinola (SAN).
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the family.
