The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, on Monday installed Hon. Rasaq Sijuola as the pioneer Mogaji of the Looyin dynasty in the Oke Offa Atipe area of Ibadan.
Sijuola, an internationally trained nurse, social worker and economist, was formally installed at the Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area. The ceremony drew family members, kinsmen and other dignitaries.
In his acceptance remarks, the new traditional title holder expressed appreciation to members of the family for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to pursue community-focused initiatives aimed at improving living standards in the area and Ibadanland at large.
His emergence marks a historic milestone as the first person to occupy the Mogaji position of the Looyin dynasty. Community members described his selection as a forward-looking development that combines cultural heritage with modern leadership orientation and a development-driven agenda.
Sijuola had his early education in Agege, Lagos, where he attended Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, graduating in 2000. He currently serves as President of the Millennium Set Alumni Association, reflecting his continued commitment to unity and service.
With academic and professional exposure across countries including the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Finland, as well as travel experience spanning more than 22 countries, he brings a broad international outlook to leadership, alongside professional expertise in nursing, social work and economics.
Beyond his professional background, Sijuola has also contributed to community development through the Sijuola Social Development Foundation (SSDF), which has supported initiatives such as free JAMB forms, student scholarships, youth sports competitions, and assistance to religious and community institutions.
The foundation has also provided support for the less privileged and logistics assistance for community activities, further reinforcing his focus on youth empowerment, social welfare and inclusive development within the Looyin dynasty and beyond.
