The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has reiterated the importance of digital innovation and inter-agency collaboration in strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance across Nigeria’s public institutions.

The FCC boss stated this while receiving the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Addressing the delegation, Omidiran reaffirmed the Commission’s constitutional mandate to promote equity and balanced representation across Nigeria’s public sector, noting that the adoption of technology-driven systems would enhance compliance monitoring and institutional efficiency.

She added that integrating digital solutions into public administration would support fair representation, improve oversight mechanisms, and reinforce national cohesion.

“Technology remains a critical enabler in advancing inclusive governance and ensuring that opportunities within public service reflect Nigeria’s diversity,” Omidiran noted.

In his remarks, NITDA DG Abdullahi commended the new leadership of the FCC and emphasized the role of digital transformation in modern governance.

Abdullahi further stressed that aligning regulatory frameworks with emerging technologies would improve efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

“Our visit is to congratulate the new executive chairman and also strengthen collaboration with the Commission and explore how innovation and digital infrastructure can support its constitutional responsibilities more effectively,” he said.

“NITDA remains committed to supporting institutions that promote transparency, efficiency, and national development through responsible technology adoption,” Abdullahi concluded.
