The lawmaker representing Ileoluji Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye has given financial grant to 1000 youth, artisans and elderly people to boost thier economic status and improving livelihoods across the constituency.
Speaking at event held on Monday in Okeigbo, according to a statement by his media office in Abuja, the lawmaker, represented by his senior legislative aide, Funminiyi Adesoji, said the initiative was geared towards offering business financial support and relief to individuals to enable them to invest and generate a decent livelihood for necessities of life.
He reiterated that economic empowerment remains a critical tool in addressing unemployment and enhancing sustainable development at the grassroots.

He urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the funds to expand their business, creat employment opportunities and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the local economy.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Chairman in Okeigbo, Hon. Samson Ojetayo expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for the gesture, saying its impactful and timely.
He assured that the beneficiaries will make effective and prudent use of the grants to improve their businesses.
While addressing the constituents, Hon. Adefiranye said in the last two years, he has facilitated four kilometres of new roads in strategic parts of the constituency, constituents have benefited from empowerment programmes, including the distribution of vocational tools (e.g. sewing machines, motorcycles, generators, deep freezers) to more than 200 beneficiaries across all wards.

He facilitated fertiliser distribution to farmers, support for youth employment in federal agencies, and training initiatives for traditional leaders, all aimed at broad-based development, facilitated the installation of a 500KVA transformer in Ore and solar-powered boreholes in multiple communities, improving electricity and clean water access, 100 Christians facilitated to Jerusalem for pilgrimage and massive grading of rural roads across the two local governments.
Additionally, he also championed motions for the rehabilitation and dualisation of the Ore-Ondo-Akure federal road, and for the completion of the long-abandoned Okeigbo power project both major drivers of economic activity and quality of life.
He has sponsored and moved key bills and motions, including a bill to establish the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Oke-Igbo aimed at boosting healthcare training and services in the area.
He also listed fertiliser distribution to farmers, support for youth employment in federal agencies, and training initiatives for traditional leaders, all aimed at broad-based development are parts of his scorecard.
Also, we have school infrastructure, including blocks of classrooms in Kajola and Bolorunduro, which has been delivered to expand educational capacity. Overseas opportunities facilitated for youths across the constituency.
