The Police Command in Ondo State says it has deployed adequate security personnel and operational assets to all Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command’s spokesperson, who made this known in a statement on Thursday in Akure, said the JAMB CTB examination would hold on April 16, 2026.

He explained that the measure was to ensure a safe, secure, and hitch-free conduct of the JAMB CBT.

Jimoh said the deployment was part of a well-coordinated security architecture designed to safeguard candidates, examination officials, and facilities, as well as maintain public order throughout the examination period.

“This proactive measure is in strict compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

“The IGP emphasised the need for robust security presence at all examination centres nationwide to prevent any form of disruption, malpractice, or criminal activity.

“The deployed personnel have been strategically positioned to provide access control, crowd management, traffic regulation, and rapid response to any emerging situation within and around the examination centres.

“Area commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPO), and tactical teams have also been directed to intensify patrols and surveillance in their respective areas of responsibility to ensure total coverage and effectiveness.

“The command wishes to reassure candidates, parents, and guardians of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property,” he said.

The spokesperson, therefore, advised candidates to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, comply with all examination guidelines, and cooperate with security personnel deployed at the centres.

He encouraged parents and guardians to avoid overcrowding at examination venues and to adhere strictly to security advisories to ensure smooth operations.

“The Police Command in Ondo State remains resolute in its mandate to provide a secure environment for all lawful activities across the state and will continue to work in synergy with relevant stakeholders to achieve this objective.

“Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or security agency,” he said.
