The Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinenye, has condemned the xenophobic attacks in South Africa, leading to the deaths of Nigerians and other Africans resident in the country.
King Chibuzor spoke at his residence in Port Harcourt while addressing reporters on xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
He expressed sadness over the menace and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite action and repatriate helpless Nigerians back to their country.
He said, "I feel so sad and pained that Nigerians are being killed by South Africans"
The cleric said some Nigerians built shops and opened businesses where they employed South Africans, whom they are paying salaries.
He said, "Most Nigerians in South Africa have shops where they employ South Africans. Many Nigerians have businesses and South Africans are working for them and receive salaries and their without taking their jobs.’’
He faulted the South African Government over its failure to stop the lingering violence against Nigerians and other African nationals, accusing them of being an accomplice.
The cleric urged the South African Government to mandate their security agencies to stop this barbaric act against Nigerian residents in South Africa.
He recalled how Nigeria contributed immensely in assisting South Africa when it was facing Apartheid issues.
The cleric said, "When there was a problem in South Africa, when they were facing the Apartheid problem, Nigerians contributed money to assist them and now see the way they are killing Nigerians."
He said that MultiChoice and MTN are operating freely and benefiting Nigeria without a hitch.
"Look at Multi Choice (DSTV) and MTN, they are benefiting so much from Nigerians, and nobody has stopped their operations; I want to urge the Federal government to stop their operations to serve as a warning to South Africans," he said.
King Chibuzor appealed to the Federal government to use all diplomatic channels to end this attack on Nigerians or repatriate all those who are willing to return to Nigeria by sending an emergency air craft than leaving them to be killed by South Africans.
