The Presiding Prelate and General Overseer of Vineyard Christian Ministries Inc., Archbishop John Osa-Oni, has called on Christians to deliberately seek and sustain God’s presence as the key to spiritual renewal, joy, and purposeful living.

Osa-Oni made this call at the just-concluded four-day Destiny 2026 conference, the annual gathering of the ministry.

The conference, themed ‘A Time of Refreshing in His Presence,’ was held at the church headquarters on Osolo Way, off International Airport Road, Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos. The event also marked the ministry’s 38th anniversary and attracted worshippers, ministers, and participants from across Nigeria and beyond.

In his message, the cleric urged believers to rise above spiritual depression and embrace a new dimension of God’s glory.

“Arise from spiritual depression into a new light. Shine with the glory and brilliance of the Lord, for your light has come,” he declared, adding that those who walk closely with God would experience Him in a fresh and deeper way.

He stressed that securing God’s presence is not accidental but requires intentionality and commitment.

According to him, a genuine relationship with God goes beyond casual devotion.

“It is not a casual relationship. It is a deliberate desire to dwell continually in His presence,”

he said, referencing Psalm 27:4 to underscore the importance of seeking intimacy with God.

Osa-Oni further urged Christians to become carriers of God’s presence, noting that divine guidance and illumination are guaranteed for those who remain connected to Him.

Quoting scriptural examples, he said God’s presence provides direction like the pillar of cloud by day and fire by night, assuring believers that “we shall not walk in darkness.”

He emphasised that the presence of God remains the foundation for a victorious and fulfilled life.

“When you secure the presence of God, you secure life,” he said.

Highlighting its benefits, Osa-Oni noted that God’s presence guarantees rest, produces unstoppable joy, and brings illumination even in times of darkness.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the Lagos State PFN Women Wing, Apostle Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, encouraged Christians to continually seek and abide in God’s presence.

She noted that abiding in God provides clarity of identity and comfort, even in moments of weakness. “Even if your character is faulty and you are weary in life, still be in His presence and abide in Him,” she said.
