Former Edo Governor Senator Adams Oshomole and Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo have eulogised policy expert and former Chief of Staff to former Governor  Godwin Obaseki, Taiwo Akerele at 50.

Akerele, who is widely regarded as a bridge-builder between grassroots activism and high-level policy, is being draped in honours.

Oshiomhole in a goodwill message described Akerele as a "dependable ally" whose journey reflects a legacy of integrity.

"At 50, your journey reflects a legacy of intellect and courage," Oshiomhole noted.

"You have demonstrated that leadership is not about holding office but about influencing change and mentoring the next generation."

Keyamo traced Akerele’s trajectory from a fiery student activist in the 1990s to a sophisticated policy advisor who stood on the global stage in Washington to defend the national mandate.

"You are a man of considerable discipline," Keyamo remarked, highlighting Akerele’s recent appointment to the Governing Council of the University of Jos as a fitting crown for his dedication.

Prince Clem Ikande Agba recalled their time collaborating at the Clem Agba Foundation (TCAF), where Akerele traded his suit for a volunteer’s vest to fight Hepatitis B among vulnerable populations.

"Your passion for touching lives at the grassroots remains truly commendable," Agba stated, reflecting on Akerele’s hands-on approach to public health.

Minister of Regional Development Abubakar Momoh, acknowledged that reaching this milestone is a testament to "a life of impact."

He pointed to Akerele’s tenure as Chief of Staff in Edo State as a period defined by a commitment to tangible progress.

DG/CEO of the National Institute for Sports, Comrade Philip Shaibu  praised Akerele’s "unwavering commitment to excellence," noting that his life exemplifies the virtues of hard work and resilience.

Dr. Akerele’s resume reads like a blueprint for a modern statesman, serving as Country Director for Policy House Inc, managing high-stakes World Bank projects and relentless advocacy for the girl child, out-of-school children, and People Living with Disabilities.
