A large turnout of women drawn from key political and grassroots groups in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State on Thursday declared their support for the re-election of the Spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Stephen Ogundipe, popularly known as Omoj’omolo.
The endorsement took place at the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office on Alimi Oke Street, Oshodi, where members of The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, The Mandate Movement, Justice Forum, and market women associations gathered in their numbers, with organisers estimating attendance at over a thousand participants.
The Vice Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, who served as Special Guest of Honour, led the high-level delegation.
In her remarks, Badmus-Aregbe urged unity and political readiness among party faithful ahead of future elections.

“This gathering is not just symbolic; it is a call to action. The challenges ahead require commitment and loyalty to our party. I urge every one of you to ensure your Permanent Voter Cards are ready,” she said.
She added, “Asiwaju must return, and our own Hon. Ogundipe must also secure a second term. He remains the pride of Oshodi and has earned the trust of the people through his performance.”
Speaking on behalf of the women, group leader Mrs. Faidat Bolarinwa pledged full mobilisation for the ruling party and its candidates.
“We are battle-ready. The women of Oshodi-Isolo are fully prepared for the task ahead,” she said. “Hon. Ogundipe has consistently demonstrated compassion and leadership through his humanitarian efforts. We are determined to support him and ensure he returns.”
Former Councillor, Hon. Bukola Dasola Lawal, also commended the lawmaker’s political record, describing his performance as justification for a second term.
“Hon. Ogundipe is not new to our political terrain. His antecedents speak volumes. He has delivered on his mandate and shown capacity. A second term is necessary for continuity and consolidation,” she said.
In a more emphatic intervention, the patron of the Women in APC Forum in Oshodi-Isolo, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), reaffirmed support for Ogundipe while warning against political imposition.

“We will not allow imposition or manipulation. Hon. Ogundipe has shown respect, loyalty, and commitment to progressive ideals. We will not accept a stooge in Oshodi politics,” he said.
He subsequently presented Ogundipe to the women for endorsement, drawing loud applause and chants of approval.
Responding, Ogundipe expressed appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as a renewed call to service.
“I am deeply humbled by this show of love and support,” he said. “For those who claim they have not seen our impact, they should get glasses or borrow one.”
He listed his achievements across education, healthcare, infrastructure, welfare and empowerment programmes, adding that his leadership remained results-driven.

“My academic journey is verifiable. I have attended the University of Ibadan, the University of Lagos, and I am currently rounding off my PhD at Lagos State University,” he said.
“I refuse to be a puppet. My focus remains service to the people.”
The event was attended by several political stakeholders including Hon. Nike Adegbola, Hon. Femi Ayodele, Alhaji Kehinde Olorunoje and Comrade Samson Agbetoye.
The gathering ended with a renewed pledge by participants to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Stephen Ogundipe ahead of the next electoral cycle.
