Victor Osimhen has been cleared to play in the derby clash against Fenerbahçe.

The Nigerian striker featured with a protective arm brace in Galatasaray’s defeat to Gençlerbirliği on Wednesday.

However, Fenerbahçe filed a formal complaint to the Turkish Football Federation, claiming the protective gear could prove harmful to opponents.

The complaint was declined, with the federation stating that the brace was medically approved following the necessary consultations.

Fenerbahçe’s concern may be linked to the significance of Sunday’s clash, which could play a major role in deciding the Turkish league title. Galatasaray currently sit four points ahead of their rivals, and the absence of Osimhen would have been a major setback for the league leaders.

Both sides head into the fixture after playing out a 1-1 draw in their previous meeting this season.
