Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was right to reject a €200 million joint offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in 2023, former club sporting director Mauro Meluso has said.
Speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Meluso said De Laurentiis did not want to weaken the squad so soon after winning the Scudetto, and that selling both players at once would have sent the wrong signal to the club.

"Should Osimhen and Kvara have been sold together to PSG immediately after their third Scudetto? At that point, De Laurentiis didn't want to weaken Napoli," he said.
"On reflection, it is easy to say he should have sold them. It would have sent a terrible signal to the club after winning the Scudetto and losing Spalletti and Guintoli.
"He refused for the good of Napoli, but there are some things that go well and others that don't."
