Onuachu cleared for Trabzonspor

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stepped up his recovery by returning to full training with Galatasaray after a spell on the sidelines.

The forward had been out since sustaining a right forearm injury during a UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool, which required surgery.

Wearing a protective bandage, Osimhen trained fully with the squad and reportedly held talks with head coach Okan Buruk, expressing his desire to start this weekend against Gençlerbirliği.

His return comes at a crucial time, with Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig cut to just two points ahead of rivals Fenerbahçe after a dip in form during his absence.

The Nigerian striker is now pushing to make an immediate impact as the title race intensifies.

In the meantime, Osimhen’s compatriot,  Paul Onuachu is expected to return to training with Trabzonspor today ahead of their crucial league clash against İstanbul Başakşehir on Sunday.

The striker missed the team’s last match a 1-0 defeat to Alanyaspor due to a thigh issue.

Medical tests revealed no serious damage, with reports confirming the injury was compounded by dehydration.

Onuachu, who has scored 22 league goals this season, is now set to re-join full training and could feature in the upcoming fixture.

Trabzonspor currently trail league leaders Galatasaray by four points with six games remaining.

They are third with 64 points from 29 games behind Fenerbahce (66 points) and Galatasaray (68 points).
