Victor Osimhen has scored more UEFA Champions League goals than boyhood hero Didier Drogba after his heroics against Juventus earned him a place in the official Team of the Week for the competition.

Osimhen’s strike that broke the deadlock against Juventus in extra time in Turin meant he has now scored 16 goals after 25 UCL matches, one more than Drogba.

However, Guinea and Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy remains the most prolific African player in the UCL thus far as he has netted 18.

Meanwhile, Osimhen was named by UEFA in the official Team of the Week for the UCL in recognition of his role in qualifying Galatasaray to the Round of 16 of the competition.

He was picked as Man of the Match versus Juventus as the Turkish champions went through 7-5 on aggregate after losing the return leg in Italy 3-2.
