Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has praised Alex Otti for what he described as people-focused leadership aimed at repositioning Abia State for sustainable growth.

Osinbajo spoke during a visit to the governor at his office, where he expressed appreciation for the reception and highlighted what he termed tangible progress within a relatively short period.

He commended Otti’s social welfare initiatives, particularly the enactment of the Senior Citizens’ Law, describing the measure as reflective of a governance approach anchored on care for vulnerable groups.

He also referenced ongoing road rehabilitation and connectivity projects across the state as visible outcomes of policy direction.

Reflecting on public service, Osinbajo said leadership is ultimately measured by delivery, noting that campaign promises must translate into concrete outcomes.

In his remarks, Governor Otti welcomed the former Vice President, describing him as a long-standing associate. He clarified that the gathering coincided with his birthday but was not organised as a formal celebration, stating that he prefers modest observance while in public office.

Otti said the administration’s achievements over the past 32 months, though modest, have focused on improving welfare and security. He stressed that governance must prioritise the safety, peace, and well-being of citizens.

The governor recalled early interventions undertaken to restore order in local government areas previously affected by insecurity, noting that affected communities have since reopened. He also acknowledged the efforts of security agencies in maintaining stability across the state.
