Ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, voters have been urged to unite against vote buying and other forms of electoral malpractice and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji.
A chieftain of the APC, Asiwaju Olufemi Adedeji (AyoNbo), made the call during an engagement with party youth leaders in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency at the weekend, describing Oyebamiji as a catalyst for a new phase of progress and renewed development in the state.
He emphasised the significance of the forthcoming poll, noting that it presents a critical opportunity for the people of Osun to shape their future through informed and decisive leadership.
“Our collective aspiration is clear—responsive governance, modern infrastructure, quality education, and sustainable economic growth. These are achievable under purposeful leadership. The time has come to rally behind a candidate with the competence, character, and capacity to deliver. Osun deserves no less,” he said.

Adedeji warned against electoral fraud, particularly vote selling, urging residents to consider the long-term implications of their electoral choices.
“We must unite against vote selling and other forms of electoral fraud that undermined our efforts in the 2022 and 2023 elections. It is imperative that we learn from past experiences and ensure the emergence of a government driven by purpose and integrity,” he added.
He maintained that the APC remains a platform for transformation and development, capable of ushering in a new phase of growth in the state.
Adedeji further described Oyebamiji as an experienced administrator with the capacity and exposure required to reposition Osun for sustainable development and economic recovery.
He also called on traders, artisans, market leaders, including market women and babalojas, as well as other community stakeholders, to intensify voter education and mobilisation efforts ahead of the election.
