The General Overseer of World Soul Winning Evangelistic Ministry (WOSEM), Pastor Paul Obadare, has called on Christians to prioritise integrity, godliness and a commitment to good governance when voting in the 2026 Osun State governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

Obadare, son of the late televangelist Apostle Timothy Obadare, made the call while speaking with journalists at the WOSEM Shiloh Ground in Ilesa, ahead of the ministry’s 52nd annual international conference themed “Form but Faulty.”

He lamented the multiple challenges confronting Nigeria, including economic instability, rising poverty, insecurity, violence, moral decline, leadership crises, lack of accountability, as well as growing global tensions and uncertainty.

The cleric cautioned Christians against making impulsive electoral decisions, stressing the need to support candidates capable of delivering responsible leadership and addressing the nation’s pressing issues.

He emphasised that leadership remains critical to national development, urging voters to support candidates who prioritise citizens’ welfare through people-centred policies, strengthen security architecture, promote transparency and accountability, and invest in youth empowerment, education and job creation.

Obadare further advised that electoral choices should not be influenced by religious affiliation or denominational ties, but by the candidate’s character, integrity and demonstrated fear of God.

“Before we give second term to political office holders in Osun and Nigeria as a whole, we must critical look at their manifestos which they promised and see if they have fulfilled them, even if they are yet to get everything done are they committed to it in their first term in Osun State? In Osun State, we need to ask questions weather the incumbent governor has deliver his electoral promises before going ahead to give him second term.”

He stressed the need for leaders and citizens to embrace righteousness and honestly, saying “Our leaders must live by the standards of God, this is the way to get backing of God and people which is surest way to get another chance, power belongs to to God alone.”

Speaking about the programme, he said the conference is the legacy of his father, Apostle Timothy Obadare, which has been very helpful in transforming lives.
