…I don’t rely on federal might to win Osun guber race—Oyebamiji

…seek support for Tinubu’s administration

Muslim stakeholders and the League of Alfas in Osun State have declared their support for the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji(AMBO) and his deputy, Benjamin Adereti ahead of the 2026 election slated for August 15.

The stakeholders at its annual Ramadan lecture and distribution of food items to faithful on Thursday also urged residents of the state to rally the administration of President Bola Tinubu to ensure continuity of policies and development initiatives.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, the President of the Muslim body, Sheikh Qozeem Abdul Rahaman, said, “As we stand on the precipice of an election year here in Osun State, it is imperative that we remember our duty as Muslims to reciprocate the generosity that has been extended to us. It is crucial to understand that our unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu will undoubtedly encourage him to continue his benevolent initiatives for Osun State and the nation at large.

“Approaching the gubernatorial elections, we must reflect on the unfortunate reality that, across the seventeen southern states of Nigeria, there exists not a single Muslim governor in the entirety of the Southwest of southern Nigeria. This is a disconcerting situation that begs the question: why has this been allowed to persist?

“If we are to rectify this disheartening anomaly, we must galvanize efforts to promote the critical importance of electing a Muslim to the governorship for the sustainability of programmes such as this, initiated by our President, we must ensure that our votes are cast for candidates who align with our faith. Beyond the esteemed title of Asiwaju Musulumi of Ikireland, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji stands as a proven and reliable Muslim leader, deserving of our unequivocal support and confidence.”

Also, the guest lecturer, Professor Kamaldeen Busari added that “Oyebamiji is not a religious impostor, not a religious charlatan, not a spiritual fraudster, not a false devotee. He is a devoted Muslim to the core, it will be very unfortunate if we miss this golden opportunity.”

Responding to the remarks, Oyebamiji said, he is not relying on federal might to win 2026 Osun guber race, stressing that with the ,consultation round all councils, APC will win with a wide margin.

“There is no way we can rely on Federal might. Don't forget we have done consultation throughout 30 local governments and area office of the state, we have consulted all the traditional rulers in the state, we have consulted men and women. We are working and will continue to work here until we have the opportunity to be the Governor of Osun State, so there is nothing like Federal might, we have to do our work and we have to deliver in a very good manner, character, behavior to both men, women and every citizen of Osun.”

He appealed electorate to get their Permanent Voter Card(PVC) before the election.
