To boost agricultural productivity at the grassroots, the reinstated Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) local government executives have begun grading of rural roads in Boripe Local Government.
The exercise, which was kicked-off at Ofa Ataba community, Iragbiji by council executives led by the local government Chairman, Sikiru Odebunmi, will be carried out in five major towns and hundreds of rural communities in the council.
Addressing the residents, Odebunmi said the local government was made up of five major towns with several rural communities, adding that the residents were predominantly farmers.
He said: “This road leads to three villages with over 400 houses. For close to 15 to 20 years, they have abandoned this road until today. The villagers don’t have access to this road any longer. Even to go to those villages with motorcycle, it is a difficult task. I am sure that today, the villagers will smile as a result of access to the road.”

Odebunmi noted that other towns and rural communities would benefit from the initiative of road grading across the council.
The Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdulrasheed Olabomi, hails the council executives for their efforts to ensure they boost agriculture practices at the grassroots in Osun State.
Oba Olabomi, represented by Baale Ofa Ataba, Chief Ayoade Awokunle, said: ‘’Only an ingrate will not vote for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and election of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji as Osun State governor because of the development and autonomy we are enjoying.”
