Traditional rulers in Osun State, in partnership with Community Life Project (CLP), are driving coordinated development across six local government areas by focusing on improving healthcare, raising educational standards, and strengthening critical infrastructure. sustainable growth.
The areas selected for the Council's development plan are Boripe, Ede North, Ejigbo, Ifedayo, Ife South, and Oriade. The plan aims to improve the efficiency of public spending, reduce duplication of projects, strengthen accountability, and enhance service delivery outcomes across the pilot LGAs in Osun state.
Speaking at the launch of the development plan document in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Thursday, the Senior Programme Manager of CLP, Mr. Francis Onahor, explained that government agencies, stakeholders, and communities are expected to use the plan to guide project prioritization in annual budgets for greater community development.
According to him, Government agencies now have reliable data-driven evidence of the needs of each local government that they can use to do their budget planning. This gives no room for excuses, and duplication of projects and community people need to take these plans to keep engaging the local governments and representatives every year.”

Onahor further warned against awarding a project to people or organizations not registered under the local government consistency. He said, "Following due process stops corruption, which brings improvement in service delivery in the local governments".
The Orangun of Oke IIa, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, emphasized the need for community participation in the development plan for councils across Osun State.
He called for collective action and urged people of Osun State to be futuristic, committed, shun corruption, and actively participate in unity to the development of the state, to stand as the number one developed state in Nigeria.
According to him, Democracy is people-driven; there is nothing to do at the National level if the communities are absent. The people of Osun want development to happen, and we have to be active participants, there is emphasis on collectivity; we have to work together to achieve this, as traditional rulers and the subjects, all of us must actively participate, let's not leave it for the politicians alone; shun corruption and let work in unity for the betterment of the state.
“It's our destiny, it's our future." Where exactly do we want Osun State to be in the next 50 years? We should be futuristic, the future is best when we build it together, all must be actively involved, that is the essence of this gathering," he said.
