Oyo APC congress reflects party cohesion, says new youth leader

The newly elected Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Olalekan Glory, has described the party as a closely knit family committed to its growth and development in the State.
He said the level of unity within the party was evident in the peaceful and orderly conduct of the State congress, commending members for their cooperation throughout the exercise.
Glory emerged as the party’s youth leader following the congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium.
Speaking after the exercise, he praised party leaders and delegates for adhering to the agreed guidelines, noting that the smooth conduct of the congress reflected unity within the party in the state.

According to the new Youth leader, the exercise followed consultations among stakeholders, who had earlier reached a consensus on a zoning arrangement designed to ensure equitable distribution of positions across the State Executive Committee.
The congress also produced former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alake Adeyemo, as the new state chairman of the party.
The results were announced by the Secretary of the party’s Ad hoc zoning Committee, Bolaji Repete, under the supervision of the Congress Committee Chairman, Amos Gombi.
Other members elected into the State Executive Committee include Taofeek Lamidi as Deputy Chairman, Fatai Adesina as Secretary, Lateef Ajiboye as Treasurer, and Akanbi Tunde as Financial Secretary.
Also elected were Remi Adepoju as Organising Secretary, Olawale Sadare as Publicity Secretary, and Felicia Opatunde as Women Leader.
Additional members were also announced to fill various positions within the State Executive Committee as the party concluded the congress.
